Wracked with compulsive anxieties, Myles is asking pointed questions of his fragmented, abusive past for the first time – and facing escalating resistance.

Summary

Middle-aged and adrift, Myles Fisher (Cain Duminski) spends his lonely days rescuing neighborhood cats. As sessions unfold under the guidance of his therapist, Myles is frustrated to discover that the sexual abuse he shared with his brother growing up is something his family simply won’t – or can’t – discuss in detail. Meanwhile, a tentative relationship with working, single mom Joni (Karen Freer) blossoms, and Myles soon finds himself triggered by the possibility of becoming a step-dad – just as his own fragmented childhood memories are becoming clearer. As Myles starts to piece his past together, parallel situations he found himself in as a boy with his own father (a frightening turn by Jeff Ronan), he realizes, unfolded very differently. When he confronts his family with confusing memories of their time together (including his dubious brother, a haughty Todd D’Amour), he starts to discover the costs of speaking out. While it might be too late to fix his own childhood, his future begins to look pretty bright. Every stray deserves a home, even Myles.
